13th September, League v Fife: Won 7-2

A great start to the season from Winwick, good football, strong tackling and a never say die attitude brought a 7-2 win against newly promoted Fife. The game was close early on but Winwick took an early 2-0 lead through Ben Smith and an unfortunate own goal. Fife replied with a scramble in the box before a shot into the corner from close range that Aza had no sight of.
Jack Sanson put us 3-1 up with a solo run from half way line and neat finish under the keeper.

After the break Winwick took control, Ben looked dangerous when ever he received the ball, and got good service from both Theo and Stretchy , Ben went on to notch up 4 goals and hit the bar.
Theo Heesom came down the left and fired home a left foot shot into the far corner, shortly after he hit the post.

Winwick defended well with Jake , Andrew and Dan keeping Fife at arms length for most of the game until a well worked passing move gave Fife a 2nd. Winwick did everything they have been working on during the summer, we work for each other and pass the ball, we play as a team never give up. Well to boys.
