Winwick Athletic was pleased to be able to host this year's Rising 7s Fun Footy Festival at the excellent venue of Culcheth Sports Club (The Daten) on Sunday 19th July 2009. This event was established by five local Charter Standard Clubs in Warrington to allow similar minded Clubs to bring their new U7s teams together in a friendly, well-structured manner so that their first taste of playing mini-soccer matches would be totally within all FA guidelines and principles. Last year the event was hosted at Crosfields JFC and the other Charter Standard Clubs who have worked together for the last two years now are Eagle Sports JFC, Fife Rangers JFC and Woolston Rovers JFC. Many thanks to our fellow Charter Standard Clubs for supporting this great event for our new U7 players. In addition, many many thanks to all at Culcheth Sports Club (The Daten) for setting everything up for everyone to have a fantastic day. Your friendly staff and the excellent and fairly priced food and drinks were well appreciated by many, including the Warrington League Chairman who commented on what a truly fantastic venue this was and he also gave a brilliant tribute to the organisation of the event. So well done to Ian (Groundsman), Eric (Club Secretary), John (Catering) and Chris (Bar beverages) and everybody else at Culcheth Sports Club for all of your help in setting everything up before and on the day.
