U12A Woolston 2011
We entered two teams into the 2011 Woolston Tournament - one of our favourite tournaments and one we've had success in before, winning and als coming runners-up. This year the Whites made 4th in their group, with Kieran named as their player of the tournament, winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 2 games.
The reds managed to win their group, playing 5 games, winning 3, drawing 1 and losing 1. Finchy was top scorer with 5 followed by Dominic with a couple and Dan with one.
In a close quarter final against Woolston Rangers, we won AET in a tense finale - eventually with keepers and reduced player...

8th May 2011 Challenge Cup Semi Final, U12A versus Parcdale Sidac: Lost 0-3
8th May 2011 Challenge Cup Semi Final, U12A versus Parcdale Sidac: Lost 0-3 Report by Jason Gouk
Venue: The Beeches, St Helens
The U12A team put in a great performance in a tight-tense semi-final against Parcdale. The game was dominated by Winwick for the first 15-20 minutes when we put together some good slick passing moves. Parcdale to their credit kept their shape and discipline and we were unable to find a way through their well organised defence. About 20 minutes in Parcdale capitalised onto a dropped cross to poach a goal. Half-time 0-1. In the second half we pushed them hard and cr...

17th April 2010 Challenge Cup Semi Final, U11A versus Newton: Lost 3-4 AET
17th April 2010 Challenge Cup Semi Final, U11A versus Newton: Lost 3-4 AET Report by Jason Gouk
Venue: The Oaks, Culcheth
What a nerve jangling affair todays semi final was. A real thriller with Winwick coming from 0-2 down to lead 3-2 with seconds to go before Newton forced a late equaliser then won it in extra time. The boys ran their blood to water today in very hot conditions at the excellent Oaks ground in Culcheth. After a bright start, Newton stunned Winwick with a break away goal - well taken by their forward. The next was a pile driver - the Newton player picked up a loose ball ...

16th August 2009 Friendly, U11A Away to Cadishead: Won 4-2
16th August 2009 Friendly, U11A Away to Cadishead: Won 4-2Report by Administrator A good entertaining pre-season friendly. Johnny was in good form up front - knocking in 3 goals and using his blistering pace to good effect. We looked solid at the back, with Jamie, Dominic, Robbie and Charlie in good form - and as ever the Mr Dependable Harrison in goals.
James and Kieran we kepy busy in midfield - with the latter supporting the front two well and getting his reward with a second half goal. Out wide new boy Dan showed some sublime touches and passes to our front two John and Ryan. Not to be l...

21st June 2009 U10A Fife Tournament: QF
21st June 2009 U10A Fife Tournament: Quarter Final Report by Jason Gouk
The boys played excellentl today. We won 4 of our 6 group games and finished top. The two we lost were strange affairs - all Winwick, but couldn't get the vital goal and then lost both in the last second 0-1. In the quarter final it was the same - a sloppy first, then a brilliant comeback, before giving up a goal at the death to lose 1-2. A great performance in this six a side tournament - especially with a squad of 9 and the need to rotate the squad to give everyone a game.

21st March 2009 League, Under 10A Home to Winstanley Warriors: Draw 1-1
21st March 2009 League, Under 10A Home to Winstanley Warriors: Draw 1-1 Report by Jason Gouk
The boys played with a lot of determination and spirit today against a talented Winstanley team. Indeed before today Winstanley had only conceded 9 league goals all season and none since December.
In midfield we were unlucky to lose James after only 5 minutes with a tight hamstring. His replacement Kieran ran himself to a standstill and along with Dominic up front set the tone for the energy and enthusiasm of the team. An open game saw both sides create early chances before Winstanley opened the sc...

27th September 2009 League, Under 10A Home v Haydock: Won 2-0
Today we saw some great training moves and effort transfered to match day. Defensively we play as a unit and looked solid - with the boys playing for each other, not all ball chasing and also playing out from the back with some nice passing moves.
Up front John was livewire - he chased a through ball to score the first and was sharp as a tack to shoot into an empty net for the second following a poor goal kick. In midfield James went on a couple of intelligent mazy dribbles (just liked we'd practised on Thursday) both times creating insightful passes to team mates to shoot - the second to Cam...

20th September 2009 League, Under 10A Away v Winstanley Warriors: Lost 1-3
A lot of effort today on a huge pitch. The boys tried tirelessly to beat Winstanley, but just lacked a little composure at times on the ball - unusual for us of late. However take nothing away from Winstanley - they played some lovely passing football today and utilised the space on the pitch to good effect.
In defence Adam, Dominic and Cameron worked tirelessly and were solid early on, despite plenty of Winstanley pressure. Against the run of play - we put together a lovely move - Kieran looked up to play a great through ball to John and Ryan - it was Ryan who got the final touch to put us 1...

13th September 2009 League, Under 10A Home v Wigan Junior Latics: Won 1-0
A good start to the new league season with a win over division 1 new boys Wigan. Some great effort put in by the boys - to keep a clean sheet first game was a fantastic achievement. Up front we created a number of good chances - with Robbie and James both playing John in for what seemed like 3 or 4 clean breaks. As it was it was Robbie with a neat turn and shot (with his weaker right foot Mum!) that broke the deadlock.
In defence, Harrison, Adam, Dominic, Ryan and latterly Cameron were brilliant. Closing down and limiting first half chances to long range efforts. Dominic's efforts in centre d...
